Calling relies heavily on the financial backing of those who share our belief that a different model for top-quality, low-fee education can make a big difference in South Africa. Without the support of individuals and companies, the organisation would not be making the impact it currently is. Why not grab the opportunity to get involved in our unique learner partnership model or back us in another way?
To deliver a high quality education at a low fee requires a number of partnerships. We see fundraising as a way of helping community members and businesses discover their appropriate place in contributing to the welfare of the community. Therefore, fundraising in itself serves a purpose.
We believe in building the broadest possible support base, i.e. obtaining many supporters that contribute small to medium amounts to support our ideal of long term sustainability.
The Learner Partnerships component of the funding model has become almost synonymous with Calling Academy and has been a cornerstone of its financial well-being. The term “partnership” is preferred to “sponsorship” because it better reflects the nature of the funding model. Together with the low school fee and the government subsidy, a learner partnership completes our “revenue streams per learner”. A learner partnership is valued at R10 600 in 2023. As a registered Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) with the South African Revenue Service (registration number 930055017), Calling Education NPC issues Article 18A tax deductible certification to donors and a BEE affidavit (where the donor requires).
