Calling Education believes in the inspirational and guiding influence of passionate teachers. We would rather have excellent teachers teaching in average facilities, than average teachers teaching in excellent facilities. He completed his school career in 1999 at Paul Roos Gymnasium as head boy. He obtained a BSc degree and PGCE from Stellenbosch University and later an honours degree in Theology from the Stellenbosch Theological Institute. His first teaching positions were in the United Kingdom where he taught at two prestigious schools – The Royal Grammar School and Berkhamsted School. He then returned to Paul Roos Gymnasium to teach Physical Science where he also served as Resident Boarding House Master, Head of Character Development, Head of the Christian Union and Head of Hockey. He resigned from his full-time position at Paul Roos Gymnasium at the end of 2015 to co-found Calling Education. Werner is married to Lelani, also a teacher. They have two young children, Daniël and Emily.

Teacher of Mathematics
After completing his studies, he spent six months as a touring tennis coach and six months teaching at Curro Nelspruit. He then moved to Cape Town where he spent seven years teaching at Durbanville High School. He joined Calling Academy in 2019 and loves the privilege of seeing the growth and development of the school and learners.
He enjoys spending time outdoors where he gets to appreciate some of what God created while running and cycling. He places a lot of value on relationships, discipleship and therefore loves building into other people’s lives by doing life together and do so by being a husband/friend/teacher.

After sensing that God was leading him into a new professional phase, Jannie returned to Stellenbosch University to complete his PGCE in 2016. Subsequently, he taught Accounting for two years at Swellendam High School before joining Calling Academy at the beginning of 2019. He is a keen enthusiast of endurance sports, loves trail running and his role as trail running coach at Calling Academy. Jannie is married to Beatrix and has three children: Gabriella, Jan-Dawid and baby Katja.

Samora is passionate about community development and particularly wishes to see the development of young people from previously disadvantaged communities. Consequently, he had the portfolio of community development on a SRC sub-committee, at EVery Nation Church and at Matie FM while at Stellenbosch University.
Teacher of English
Kate began her teaching career at Paul Roos Gymnasium, later moving to St. Stithians Preparatory in Johannesburg, where she worked in remedial education. She also worked in the research field for a consultancy firm and held positions as journalistic writer, tutor, designer, consultant, business analyst, master of ceremonies and a trainer. She joined Calling Academy in August of 2019 and considers herself extremely fortunate to educate such special young men.

NC joined Calling Academy in January 2020. Having been a passionate sportsman at heart his whole life, he is thrilled at the opportunity to use cricket to further influence learners. NC recently got married to Nicola and they reside just outside Stellenbosch.

Esrillita hails from a small town, Lutzville, where she attended Lutzville High School. She studied at Stellenbosch University where she obtained a BA degree, a BA Honours degree in Psychology and a PGCE. She started her teaching career at Jan van Riebeeck High School in Cape Town before moving to Taiwan where she taught in Taipei for eight years.
Lita moved back to South Africa at the start of 2020 to join the staff at Calling Academy. Her hobbies include hiking, playing guitar and singing.

Reinhard is passionate about community transformation through creating academic opportunities. He started a non-profit organisation, MeantFoYou, to educate learners about tertiary study opportunities and sourcing funding. He is committed to student success inside the classroom and in life. He joined Calling Academy at the start of 2020 where he builds meaningful relationships to create student success. He dedicates his life aiming to inspire the next generation of learners to chase their dreams and make them a reality.
Teacher of isiXhosa
First Additional Language
Nonkosi also learnt how to teach English as a foreign language by completing her TEFL course. She also did a short course on Project Management at Pentech, now called CPUT. She is so passionate about languages, that she also studied a Bachelor of Philosophy in Translation at the University of Stellenbosch.
Nonkosi has taught isiXhosa at various schools as well as Life Orientation and Social Science. She joined Calling Academy in 2018 as part-time teacher of isiXhosa while she also teaches isiXhosa at Rhenish Girls’ High. Apart from being passionate about education, Nonkosi loves singing and athletics.
ADMINISTRATIVE AND SUPPORT STAFF
Prudence joined Calling Academy in 2018 as receptionist where she can live out her passion of working with children. She also completed two first aid courses while with Calling Academy.
Nerine lives in Stellenbosch with her husband, George-Nicholas, and daughter Mia-Beth. Her main pursuit in life is to serve and love those around her by following the example of Jesus Christ and to see His purposes fulfilled.

Emotional support and counselling
Growing up in Johannesburg, Sue attended Roedean School after which she completed a BSc degree at the University of Natal. She then worked at some noteworthy companies such as Alexander Forbes, BMW and Deloitte and Touche. From 2001, her focus has been ensuring a stable and thriving home environment for her three children.
Her passion for assisting others, especially those in emotional need, led her to do a course in counselling at the Christian Counselling Education Foundation in the USA. She is affiliated with a local network counselling network, Biblical Counselling Africa. She is studying towards a certificate in The Foundations of Biblical Counselling.
Apart from all her practical help in the launching process of Calling, she started with the emotional support of learners at Calling in 2019 and quickly started playing a supportive role for a number of learners.
Cora grew up in Lutzville and completed a Bachelors in Accounting and Management Accounting Honours at Stellenbosch University. Apart from some work as an extra Maths teacher, Cora has worked as an accountant for a few clients. She has played a critical role in getting the financial systems of Calling up and running.
