PHILOSOPHY

To deliver a high quality education at a low fee requires a number of partnerships. We see fundraising as a way of helping community members and businesses discover their appropriate place in contributing to the welfare of the community. Therefore, fundraising in itself serves a purpose.

We believe in building the broadest possible support base, i.e. obtaining many supporters that contribute small to medium amounts to support our ideal of long term sustainability.

MOST PROMINENT CURRENT NEED

As a low fee independent school in only its third year, Calling Academy is still in a capital intensive phase during which the school’s facilities are still being established. A building project is envisaged for this year which will mean the probable addition of an additional classrooms, a Science laboratory, a staff room and a work room. Our most prominent current financial need is to receive contributions to this project. Apart from the obvious infrastructure, we also require desks, chairs, projectors, white boards. Please get in touch with Werner Cloete to discuss possibilities.

LEARNER PARTNERSHIPS

The Learner Partnerships component of our funding model has become almost synonymous with Calling Academy and is a very big contributor to the school’s initial success. The term “partnership” is preferred to “sponsorship” because it better reflects the nature of the funding model. Together with the low school fee and the maximum government subsidy, the learner partnerships complete our “revenue per learner”. A learner partnership is valued at R9600 in 2020. Why not get behind the vision and the funding model by taking responsibility for a learner partnership?
